Spider Fun!

Spiders were a blast! Check out all these awesome projects we did!

We made AB patterns out of beads and strung them on the spiders legs... great fine motor practice!

We did a science experiment to see how spiders eat their prey! First we dropped the sugar cube (the bug) in the cup.

Then we watched it dissolve when we poured the water (the spiders poisonous venom) over the sugar cube.

Then we sucked up the liquid with a straw.. just like a spider uses its tongue!

Our finished spiders!!

Bats, Owls, Spiders... Oh My!!

We are continuing our unit on bats, owls, and spiders. The kids love learning about these animals! Here's a sneak peak at some of the cool projects we did last week:

On Friday morning we created a "Schema" chart about spiders. We charted what we think we know about spiders. As we read nonfiction books about spiders, we will chart our new learning, and move some of our original thoughts to the misconceptions box.

We made owls with Mrs. Fay in art on Friday. The kids had to use fine motor skills to rip the paper first.
