Check out a few of our math work stations. We go to two math work stations each day. These work stations are differentiated to meet students needs and are switched out each month to reflect the students learning objectives. While the students are working in their station, I can meet with small math groups. The kids are loving math work stations!

Notes from Open House
Here is some important info that I might have forgotten to mention at Open House:
Red Folder- The red folder will go back and forth between home and school each day. The snack calendar stays in the front pocket. School work will go home every Wednesday. If you need to send anything from home, please put it in the left pocket of the foler.
MakeUp Work- I cannot send home any work prior to missing school. Work will be collected and sent home once the child returns to school.
Snack- Please send 19 individually wrapped snacks. Try to keep it healthy please! (No cookies, candy, etc.)
Homework- There is no assigned homework. However, we do ask that you read with your child each night and practice handwriting. I will send home a "Just Right" book with your child each week. Please read the book, sign the paper, and return the book and folder to school the next day.
Blog- This blog will serve as my newsletter. Please check the blog once a week. I will update it every weekend!
Packet of Info that went home on the night of Open House- There is an "All About Me" paper. Please fill this out with your child and send it back to school. We will create a class book.
Scholastic: Order forms will go home once a month. Feel free to order online using the class code GNRD8. I will submit the orders online about two weeks after I send home the forms.
Wish List: We are still in need of several classroom items if you would like to donate! White card stock, colored card stock, Highlighter tape, Ice cube trays, Washable ink pads, and magnets. Also, we have 4 classroom iPads. I am responsible for buying the apps, so if you would like to donate an iTunes gift card, we would greatly appreciate it!

Sci Fri!
On Fridays we do a science experiment. This past Friday, we learned what Scientists do. We talked about the 5 steps to conducting an experiment, and then did our first science experiment! We wanted to know what would happen to a 2 Liter Bottle of Diet Coke if we put a roll of Mentos in it. We formed our hypothesis' and then did the experiment (outside of course). The kids loved it!!! They couldn't believe how high the coke exploded! Thanks to Miss Madeleine for dropping the Mentos in!
