Pumpkins and Halloween

Last week was filled with activities! The reading buddy party, Halloween centers, trick-or-treating, 50th Day of School and All Saints Day left the students (and teachers) begging for the weekend on Friday!

We started the week by making spider cupcakes with Mrs. Garner!

Then we had our Halloween Reading Buddy party with our 4th Grade Reading Buddies!

Pumpkin Unit
We have been learning about pumpkins the last two weeks.

This is our bubble map of pumpkin adjectives

We finished up our pumpkin unit by opening our pumpkin and counting the seeds. Before we counted the seeds, each student gave an estimate as to how many seeds they thought would be in the pumpkin. We counted the seeds by 10s. There were 366 pumpkin seeds in our pumpkin!

Avery had the closest estimation.. she estimated 350 seeds in the pumpkin!
